HOW TO ELEVATE YOUR BEDROOM

Whether it’s your Primary Bedroom or a Guest Room, it’s always a breath of fresh air to change up your room décor and create a relaxing and elevated space to unwind. If you have kids, there’s truly nothing better than escaping to your own relaxing space after your littles are in bed and asleep! Here are 5 ways to level up your Bedroom:

// Create A Morning Routine

Make your bed and set up your space so that when you’re ready to climb into bed at night, your space is calm, ready and inviting. For me, this includes a made bed with all pillows and throws back in place and a light linen mist sprayed on our bedding. There’s nothing better than climbing into a made bed that smells fresh. This linen spray is my go-to that I’ve been using for years! *tip: take this spray with you when you travel for a comforting and familiar scent

// Switch Up Your Bedding

I like to have a simple white duvet cover set for the spring and summer and change it out to a more rich subtle pattern option for fall and winter. I have my eye on this one for the upcoming fall season

// Incorporate Hotel Elements

This is especially great for a guest room and can be so simple. I love having a soft and luxurious robe and slippers on hand for when I want to be extra cozy. Other elements to have on hand are your favorite hand soap and lotion, eye masks, hotel-esq candle or diffuser scent, silk pillowcase…so many options here.

// Add Drapery

I’ve noticed a lot of our clients tend to think that blinds or roller shades are enough when thinking about window coverings in bedrooms. We love layering window coverings. Roller shades are great functionally to block out light and even provide black out options but on their own, they can look very commercial and incomplete. We always advise layering your windows with Drapery as well. Using a soft, light linen material or a sheer option provides a light, flowy and casual element that can’t be beat. If you prefer more of a dramatic and luxe look in your space, a rich velvet or chenille fabric is a great option.

// Remove clutter & organize

When thinking about your décor in your bedroom, keep it minimal. Be intentional about the elements and accessories you bring into your space and make sure you love them. Less is always more, negative space can be such a great tool to provide a calm and serene environment. More items and clutter just to fill up space is visually distracting and not necessary, especially in a space that’s meant for relaxation and recharging. Keeping the items you do want and need organized is also a huge tool in keeping the atmosphere of your space calm and clutter free. There are some really great organization tools that are also aesthetically pleasing.
